Why train by power

Basic concepts

Power lets you measure effort directly and structure workouts more precisely than by sensations or speed alone.

Recommended steps

  • Power does not depend as much on wind, gradient, or terrain.
  • It allows intensities to be adjusted to your level.
  • It makes it easier to compare efforts between days.
  • It helps follow structured plans.
  • It does not completely replace sensations: it complements them.
  • With a reasonable FTP, Vin can adapt workouts better.
