Power records and power profile
Power records and the power profile help you see what you have actually produced, by duration, and how your capabilities spread across efforts.
Recommended steps
- Where to see them: Records by duration and the Power Profile / Radar views in the Analysis area. Key durations help you see sprint, short and longer efforts at a glance.
- Window and scope: focus on a recent window such as the last 6 months for relevant comparisons, and keep a longer history for overall progress.
- How they update: valid activities with reliable power feed the profile automatically. FTP history is separate and only changes when you accept a test result; records and profile reflect all valid activities.
- FTP vs. record: FTP is a reference for zones; a record is the best power you have actually held for a given duration. They inform each other but are not the same.
- Several records can come from one activity, and a single hard session contributes like any other hard ride. Building a profile takes multiple rides over time; it is not built from one test alone.
- Use trends and compare like with like. Without enough history or with inconsistent data, interpret with caution.
