What a VO2 Max workout is
Basic concepts
VO2 Max workouts are usually intense and aim to work on high efforts. They are not intended to be done every day.
Recommended steps
- Do them rested if you can.
- Warm up well before the hard blocks.
- Accept that heart rate may take time to rise.
- Do not turn every week into a collection of VO2 Max sessions.
- If you cannot complete any of them, review FTP or plan.
- Recover well afterwards.
