Signs that your FTP is too low

An FTP that is too low can make the plan fail to provide the expected stimulus, although some easy sessions are normal.

Recommended steps

  • All workouts feel too comfortable for several weeks.
  • Hard intervals barely raise your breathing.
  • Heart rate stays very low even during intense blocks.
  • Check that you are not doing recovery sessions.
  • Raise FTP gradually or do a test.
  • Do not turn every easy workout into an ego test.
