HRV and recovery
Recovery: how to interpret your trends
Recovery is best judged from trends across several days, not from a single metric. Combine HRV, morning heart rate, feelings, load and sleep for context.
Recommended steps
- Look at trends, not isolated days. A single dip or peak means little without the days around it.
- Combine signals: HRV trend, morning heart rate, subjective feelings, recent load and sleep. Remember evidence for predicting performance or fatigue from a single data point is limited; use indicators as context, not diagnosis.
- If several signals point the same way for several days, consider prioritizing recovery: easier sessions, more sleep or a lighter week; a deload week can help absorb load.
- VinApp shows trends and context, but cannot claim overtraining, injury or illness from HRV or other numbers.
- Baldomero may offer an interpretation of the available trend, but does not replace your judgement or professional advice.
- If you notice unusual symptoms, persistent fatigue, pain or no improvement after resting, reduce load and consider professional evaluation. Resting at the right time is also training.
