FTP and zones
Both tests can estimate FTP, but they do not measure exactly the same thing and may favor different profiles.
Recommended steps
- Always use the same type of test if you want to compare progress.
- Do it rested and with a good warm-up.
- Do not compare results from different tests as if they were identical.
- If a result makes workouts impossible, adjust cautiously.
- Do not repeat tests every few days out of anxiety.
- FTP is for training better, not for winning an argument.
