Plans are always clearer before the ride
Today is a Z2 day. You know it. It is in the plan. You even roll out determined to follow it.
Then a climb appears, you feel good, somebody passes a little too quickly, and five minutes later you are doing exactly what you had decided not to do.
VinHkE can be the reminder that will not let you quietly forget.
You do not need to watch the screen continuously
An alert can tell you when something you chose in advance has become important.
The current VinHkE Alerts list is complete for this release:
- Time
- Calories
- Maximum power
- Maximum heart rate
- Grams of carbohydrate used
- Maximum gear
- Minimum gear
- Distance
- Remaining W′ percentage
- Walk-Run
Z2 means Z2
Set a power or heart-rate limit and let Karoo complain when you go over it.
You do not need to keep checking the value. If you keep pushing past it, VinHkE keeps reminding you.
Nutrition can remind you too
Calorie and carbohydrate alerts let you use accumulated expenditure as a reference on long rides.
The point is not to turn an estimate into an exact science. It is to stop useful information depending entirely on whether you remember to look.
Gears, distance and W′
You can also set alerts around the gear you are using, distance or remaining W′ percentage.
These are more specialised tools, but they can be useful for particular workouts or pacing strategies.
Walk-Run
Walk-Run is a different kind of alert, intended for sessions alternating periods of walking and running.
Set how long you want to walk and run, and VinHkE tells you when to change.
It is a simple way to begin running or follow a structured session without watching the clock.
Set the alert. Then get on with the ride.
That is what Alerts is for.
Make the important decisions before the ride and let VinHkE remind you when they matter.
