Workouts
Advanced metrics during a workout
During compatible workouts VinApp can show advanced real-time metrics alongside power, heart rate and cadence.
Recommended steps
- DFA α1 live: shown in compatible workouts when you use a strap that provides valid RR intervals. You will see a value and a chart when available, plus a quality indicator. It is a signal to observe over minutes, not a diagnosis from a single second.
- If the signal is poor or RR data is missing, DFA α1 may show as unavailable. Keep the strap moist and positioned correctly.
- Cadence series: when the workout includes a cadence target, you will see whether you are inside or outside the target (for example green vs. red), with a card, picture-in-picture and optional sound/toast cues.
- Torque series: when the workout includes a torque target, it shows a range in Newton-metres at a fixed low cadence (often around 55 rpm). It is a different stimulus from cadence series; do it only when prescribed and with good technique.
- Do not mix torque in Nm with Torque Effectiveness from pedaling dynamics. They are different metrics.
- Review these traces after the session to understand how you followed the targets, alongside power and heart rate.
