LT1 test with DFA α1
The LT1 test estimates your first aerobic threshold from the HRV response during progressive exercise. It uses a dedicated protocol and a heart-rate strap that provides RR data.
Recommended steps
- Protocol: warm-up at about 50% FTP, then 6 × 3 minutes from 60% to 85% FTP, followed by a cool-down. Ride steadily and keep cadence consistent.
- You need a compatible HRV strap that sends RR intervals. Valid, clean RR data is essential; without it the test cannot be interpreted.
- During the test you will see live DFA α1 and a quality indicator where that view is available. Try to keep the signal good throughout.
- At the end VinApp shows a result in heart rate and watts, with confidence HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW and a short explanation of what it means.
- Saving is idempotent: saving again does not create duplicates, and you can review results in LT1 history. If confidence is low or the signal was poor, repeat on another day when rested.
- This threshold is different from FTP and from the Lambert test. Do not use internals or a single value as a medical diagnosis; repeat if the app suggests it.
